Reported 9/08/09 on VirtualR.net Image Space Incorporated has released two all-new screenshots of their upcoming rFactor 2 simulation title, showing us a very detailed dirt track located in the desert. After showing us both road courses and a kart track, the dirt track adds another category of motorsport to the simulation as rFactor was already known to support all kinds of racing events – From circuit racing to rally and hillclimbs. rFactor 2 will give the modding community a new and powerful base to work with, including often requested features like weather, driver animations, improved modeling of track bumps and much more.

Chicago provides welcome relief to fantasy owners
Fifty percent odds are not very favorable, but this past week at Daytona, that is what fantasy owners faced on the restrictor-plate superspeedway. Once the smoke cleared, at least 22 cars sustained damage in several accidents, including the Big One on Lap 148 that officially wrinkled 19 of the fastest competitors. The incident was triggered when two of the most experienced drivers in the field, Jeff Burton and Kurt Busch battled for a spot in the top five, which meant that nearly the entire pack was in harm's way when spinning cars blocked the track. The only consolation is that most of your competitors' rosters probably suffered the same fate as yours.
Parrott tabbed crew chief for RPM's No. 19, Sadler
Richard Petty Motorsports on Tuesday named Todd Parrott crew chief for driver Elliott Sadler and the No. 19 Ford team in the Sprint Cup Series. Parrott replaces Wally Rogers, who will remain with RPM.
